Baked Cinnamon Apple Chips

There’s nothing tricky about this recipe and you only need three ingredients: apples, cinnamon and sugar. This is a great recipe to use up those last couple apples. Yes, these slices will need a couple of hours in the oven to dry out and firm up, but it’s a mostly hands-off affair. Plus, while the chips are crisping in the oven, will fill your house with the aroma of baked apple pies. You’ll feel like a homemaker with no additional effort needed.

I got a fancy new kitchen gadget at the Minnesota Stae Fair that is perfect for slicing apples for apple chips. The gadget is called the Miracle Kitchen Plus. At $70 it can appear to be too pricey. However, it has ten different uses! Ten! Mandolin slicer being one of them!

One thing I would change is bake the chips on a baking rack. Doing so makes it so that you won’t need to flip the chips halfway through baking. Be sure to let the apple chips cool completely in the oven. If you take them out of the oven and think that they still feel a bit soft, that’s okay! They will continue to crisp up as you let them cool.
